- 西脇の新しい事業開拓を目指すプロジェクト。
創業115年をむかえる、兵庫県・西脇の綿の先染め織物の産元商社・株式会社丸萬から、2015年に誕生しました。
ファーストシーズンのテーマは昆虫の「擬態」。昆虫たちの驚くべきユニークで精密なコスチュームをイメージして、色や柄、織りのテクニックを掛け合わせた幾何学パターンが生み出す、これまでのテキスタイルのイメージを覆すような豊かな表現を追求していきます。
テキスタイルプロダクトは丸萬独自のジャカード織り技術で作られたインテリアやファッションのアイテムで構成。「テキスタイルの楽しみ」を発信します。
KDSはブランディング、ブランド監修、テキスタイルデザイン、プロダクトデザインを担当しています。
POLS is a project Nishiwaki, a traditional textile production home in Hyogo, Japan, undertakes to cultivate and develop a new line of business.
POLS was given birth in 2015 by the 115-year-old Maruman Inc, a cotton yarn-dyed weavings manufacturer and trading company.
Its first season’s theme was “Mimicry”. Through mimicry insects put on surprisingly unique and, at the same time, exquisite costumes. We were inspired by them and have been creating geographical patterns combining their images, their colors and patterns and our weaving crafts and technologies. Along the way, we have been trying to go beyond the boundaries where traditional textiles have been confined and pursue richer expressions and presentations.
POLS textile products are consisted of interior and fashion items produced out of Maruman Inc’s own Jacquard weaving techniques. We hope users feel and enjoy “pleasures only textiles can give”.
